What is APNG and when should I use it?
APNG is animated PNG. It keeps full color and real alpha transparency with no banding, which makes it a good fit for stickers, logos and UI animations where GIF looks rough.
How is APNG different from GIF?
GIF is limited to 256 colors and one-bit transparency. APNG supports millions of colors and smooth, partial transparency, so edges and gradients stay clean.
Will an APNG work everywhere?
All current major browsers play APNG, and it falls back to a still image anywhere that doesn’t. Some apps still prefer GIF or WebP, so pick the format your destination supports.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The APNG is assembled on your own device — nothing is uploaded or stored.
