Frequently asked questions
- Does it keep the animation?
- Yes. Every frame is processed and the original timing is preserved, so the GIF still plays the same — just with the background gone.
- Why do the edges look a little hard?
- GIF transparency is on or off per pixel — there is no partial fade like a PNG. That keeps file sizes small, but very soft or feathered edges can look slightly crisp. The edge cleanup option trims stray fringe pixels.
- The background is not a perfectly flat color — will it still work?
- Raise the match tolerance. A higher value also removes near-matching shades, which helps when the background has gradients, noise or compression speckle.
- Can I do a lot of GIFs at once?
- Yes. Add a whole batch, set it once, and download them all as a zip. Each GIF is processed on your own device, so there are no upload waits or limits from us.
